Leeds marathon for MND
I am a 27 year old primary school teacher from Wakefield. Running became a passion a couple of years ago which led me to complete Manchester marathon last April. Afterwards I said I’d never do another marathon… a couple of days later I saw the set up of Leeds marathon for MND and knew I had to get involved and complete my second marathon.
MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. There is a 1 in 300 risk of getting MND across a lifetime. It can affect adults of any age, but is more likely to affect people over 50. MND is life-shortening and there is no cure. Although the disease will progress, symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best possible quality of life.
Please help by donating whatever you can to support this incredible charity and continue to raise awareness for a brilliant cause.
