Down Syndrome Ireland - AT&T Xmas Appeal
Donation protected
Down Syndrome Ireland offers support and services to people with Down syndrome and their families throughout Ireland during the current pandemic.
This year, the AT&T Irish team are delighted to team up with the Cork branch of DSI to support two important programs this holiday season; the Little Explorers Early Intervention Programme (LEEIP) and the ‘Field of Dreams’:
1. LEEIP (Little Explorers Early Intervention Programme) supports families by way of early intervention, helping them set their baby on the right track in terms of developing communication potential & skills that they will be able to call on in later life. LEEIP consists of individual and group speech & language therapy that promotes speech and is offered to infants and their parents.
2. The Field of Dreams. In this magical and truly beautiful horticultural environment in Curraheen, education, training, and employment support is being provided to members over 18. In the past 3 years, they have offered 3 programs to 28 adults with Down syndrome and helped graduates to source paid, part-time work. Their priority now is to bring back an Employment Specialist next year to help students back into the jobs they lost as a result of COVID.
At a time when the demand for their services and support has never been greater, Down Syndrome Ireland is fully committed to fully meet these extra needs and the Irish team is delighted to support them.
