Leela's Dream - The National Ballet

I have always dreamed of being in Canada's National Ballet. This year I was given the opportunity to audition, and on February 1, 2015, I was accepted to their school. This is my story...
I have always loved ballet and always wished I could dance as gracefully and effortlessly as the professionals. I have been dancing long before I can even remember. When I was only 1.5 years old, I told my Mom that I wanted to dance ballet because I wanted to be like my older sister who was taking lessons. The next week, we started "Mom and Tot" ballet classes. At 3 years old, I gave my first performance, "Teddy Bear Picnic." I have given many performances since. While performing ballet on stage, I become the character: executing the steps, keeping a perfect posture, and allowing my arms to help tell the story. Usually people describe me as quiet, and shy. Ballet makes me feel confident, alive and whole.
Everyday, I practice and do my best to improve and embrace what I am taught. Now, at 12 years old, my hard work was noticed when I was given the opportunity to audition for the Canada's National Ballet School. On February 1, 2015, I found out that I was accepted. I was on top of the world when I found out.
Canada's National Ballet School is very expensive and I knew I couldn't afford it. However, I was determined to find a way to raise the money myself to take advantage of this incredible opportunity. For the past three and a half months, I have been trying to work and help around my neighborhood to raise the money. I have been babysitting, animal sitting, walking dogs, baking, making meals for families, shoveling snow, doing yard work, helping to promote events, playing harp for private events, and collecting empty bottles to raise money. Unfortunately, I have not been able to raise enough money for tuition, equipment, and other expenses asscoiated with attending.
I have to raise this money by June 30 in order to attend. Please help me realize my dream of attending Canada's National Ballet School.
If you are in Canada or have the chance to visit Canada, come support the great dancers and artists here. Try to see one of the great performances by Canada's National Ballet School and the National Ballet of Canada. You can find out more information about me, my journey, and performances by both myself and the Canada's National Ballet School on my website, www.LeelasBalletDream.ca.
I appreciate every little donation you can spare. Even if you only donate $1, $5, $10, everything helps immensely.
Thank you!
