Leena’s Lymph Node Transplant Surgery
Donation protected
Hello all, Leena is our 15 year-old loving daughter who has Primary Lymphedema in her right leg. As some of you know she has been undergoing extensive physical therapy for the past few years. Her condition has not improved. Rather it has progressed rapidly. She now requires a Lymph Node Transplant Surgery.
After multiple appeals against our medical insurance, they have denied medical coverage for Leena’s $100k surgery.
We are hoping with the help of family, friends, and kind hearted strangers to raise funds to help cover any amount of this out of pocket expense. Whatever amount raised will go towards her surgery, hospital stay and flight to Seattle, Washington which is one of only three hospitals in USA that have performed this surgery on a minor. Her surgery is scheduled for April 2023.
No donation is too small. Thank you in advance for your generosity. No words can truly express our gratitude.
Lymphedema is an abnormal accumulation of fluid when the lymph system is damaged or blocked. Lymph Node Transplant surgery is the transfer of lymph nodes into a lymphedematous limb to promote the formation of lymphatic vessels from pre-existing lymphatic vessels.
Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Mario & Karen (Parents of Leena)
