Legacy Scholarship Fund in Memory of Jacob Lewis
The Members of the MT Parents FB Forum, a 5000-member strong community of parents of singers, actors, and dancers, send our sincere condolences to the Family of Jacob Lewis. In honor of his Legacy as a Musical Theater Student and Triple Threat, we would like to come together as a community to raise funds to be used at the Lewis Family's discretion to set up Scholarships in his name when the time is right for them. All Proceeds will go directly to the family as the sole entity that may withdraw funds for this cause. We honor Jacob whose talents were honed at Taylor High School and landed him at the Musical Theater Program at Sam Houston State. Always on your minds and Forever in your Hearts. May his light shine on forever.

This is the FB post from Mom Karyn :

It is with an aching heart that I share we lost our son, Jacob Lewis, early Saturday morning. He and his sister April Bancroft had just left the Taylor Swift concert when they started having car trouble. They were on the shoulder of the freeway, and Jacob was pushing the car to a nearby exit when they were rear-ended. The driver fled the scene but was later apprehended. Jacob died instantly.

Jacob had just been accepted into the Musical Theatre program at Sam Houston State University and was ready to embark on a journey to fulfill his dream of becoming a true triple threat on and off the stage! He spent the last two years at home after graduating from Taylor High School in 2021. He had completed his core classes at Lone Star College and took a gap year to work at Chick-fil-A. He made us proud each and every day for the responsible, kind, caring, and compassionate young man he had become.

Jacob’s love of singing and acting was cultivated and encouraged by so many! It was because of their belief in him and the talent that they saw that gave him the courage to perform. We will remember him as Jafar, Shrek, Javert, Gómez Addams, and so many more!

He was passionate about many things: musicals, tap dancing, Zelda, Mario, Dungeons & Dragons, his cats, his family, and his friends! He had a huge heart and gave the best hugs.
He was the best son a mother could ask for. He was always willing to help, tolerated my tendency to be overreaching at times, and filled my days with joy. He was my baby and so much like me. A true mama’s boy, but he loved it!

Jacob recently become an uncle, and he loved seeing how much Mark changed each time we visited him. He was so good with him and enjoyed sharing his love of music and Winnie the Pooh with his nephew.

There is a huge hole in my heart. I will miss him so very much. I knew he would do great things in his life, but now it has been cut short as he has been taken from this world too soon.
