Laura Frizzo - Legal fees for former police chief
My name is Laura Frizzo. I was fired by the city manager of Iron River, Michigan, because I am a woman. This unjust action ruined my entire career and caused me and my family great hardship. Now as I continue to fight for justice, I need help with legal fees to see this process through for not only my daughter’s and granddaughter’s futures, but yours as well.
I was the first female Police Chief in Upper Michigan and worked for the City of Iron River for almost 22 years. I poured my entire heart into my community and was passionate about the lives of those I served. I led a team of law enforcement to bring justice to Chris Regan, a US Air Force veteran who was murdered by Kelly Cochran (see documentory “Dead North”) . I now need your help to set this right. Any money that is left from this fundraiser, will be designated to others fighting discrimination in the work place. My goal is not so much for myself but to correct an injustice that is occurring. It is important to change the mentality of the population. This can’t keep happening. We need to look towards the future of our daughters, granddaughters and more.
“…. her attorney Roy Polich’s statement went on to claim Thayer has a history of animosity toward women and police, telling Frizzo “women don’t belong in men’s jobs.”

Current status – I have only 21 days from December 21, 2018 to apply for an appeal after my initial Lawsuit found David Thayer not guilty. This hearing had many issues and surprised nearly everyone with the ruling.

I have depleted my money at this point and do not even have the money to get the process started needed for the appeal. My immediate need is estimated to be between $10,000 and $20,000 for records and to get an appeals attorney. After I get the appeal, the plan will be to have the hearing outside the influenced area of David Thayer, who has a history of this behavior.

So Who You Are Supporting and What Happened?
Throughout this process, I have been contacted by women from across the country who have shared their stories with me. Women just like me who keep brushing off this treatment because we know that it will only worsen our situation or get us fired from a career we love, just as I did. Not to mention the public shaming because you took a stand.
Help me take the stand and then help other do the same. Support this cause.
Thank you
