Legal Fees for the family of Jerrel Kenemore

The family of Jerrel Lloyd Kenemore, a U.S. citizen from Texas, is asking for financial assistance to help in their fight to get him back home since his detainment in Venezuela. Jerrel has lived in Columbia since 2019 and has worked remotely from the foreign country. He has built a life there while learning and adapting to the culture. The U.S. Department of State has warned not to travel to Venezuela due to "Arrest and detention of U.S. citizens without due process or fair trial." There have been many US citizens falsely accused of terrorism, conspiracy and illegal immigration. Unfortunately, in March of 2022, Jerrel has experienced this first hand as he was arrested without cause while trying to travel on a local ferry between the border of Venezuela and Columbia. He was given proper clearance to enter Venezuela and seconds after, he was detained by Immigration. Jerrel is now being held captive in a prison facility in Caracas, Venezuela. The United States Embassy has withdrawn from Venezuela and has stated that it does not have the ability to provide assistance to U.S. citizens held captive there. However, we have been in contact with the United States Embassy in Columbia and they are doing everything they can to provide information on our father’s case. We were referred to a lawyer who is well known for assisting in these cases. He has been successful in freeing many US Citizens in the same horrible situation as our father. The judiciary system in Venezuela is cruel, unfair and very slow. With the help of Jerrel’s lawyer, we have faith that he will be granted a trial and found innocent. Although, this process can be lengthy and expensive. Jerrel was only allowed one call to his family so far since his capture but in this call he expressed his desire to be back home in the United States if we are able to free him. If you know Jerrel, you know he is always ready to help others. Even people that barely knew Jerrel, quickly learned that about him. He has a humorous and optimistic personality which has helped him stay positive through out this scary process. He found the Lord in his late 20’s and has been strong in his faith ever since. We ask for prayers for our family during this worry-some and unsure time. Any financial assistance to help with legal fees would be appreciated beyond measure. Every penny counts. Please help us bring our father home! This is last picture taken of Jerrel as he was crossing the border.
