Legal and Appeal Costs for CrossFit Buckroe Beach

Hello Hampton Residents,

My name is Chelsea Greenwood, the owner of CrossFit Buckroe Beach founded in March 2019. After covid hit, our gym community was forced to close its doors shortly after its first year of business. In a state of survival, we began utilizing our outdoor space beside our building so that we could continue to offer services to our members safely, while social distancing. After nearly 4 years of operating this way, we received a multiple letters for a Zoning violation from The City of Hampton demanding we cease all outdoor fitness, The appeal process is costly and has required legal counsel, engineering costs for planning, variances, land surveying, and permits. As we continue to navigate through this process, codes and compliance continues to issue more violations in an effort to damage or potentially shut down our business. CrossFit Buckroe Beach is a diverse community with all different ages and fitness backgrounds. We participate in several community and local fundraising events to help make Buckroe Beach a safe place for our community. Please donate or share if you can.
