Folau v Rugby A. Religion v Right to Gay Freedom=

Gay rights are being challenged in Australia with upcoming legal proceedings between Rugby Australia (RA) and a dismissed player , Israel Folau, who was fired by RA because of his widely published homophobic comments , on more than one occasion.
Mr Folau is now bringing proceedings against Rugby Australia for $ 10,000,000 and has amassed a large legal fighting fund set up by "Christian" platforms. The case will be fought by the ex player based on his right to vilify gays with impunity under the guise "Freedom of Religious Expression." The story to date has reverberated around the world within and outside Rugby circles. The case will likely be held in the Federal Court of Australia, an expensive forum for parties.
There is to be no separate Legal Representation on behalf of the Gay men and woman of Australia ( and around the globe) and yet we are the subject and object of this dispute and as a group within society will be bandied about in any proceedings.
This, if not corrected, would be a travesty of justice and fairness.
I am a Lawyer ( who is also Gay) admitted for 37 years in NSW, and in the UK. I want to protect hard won Gay Freedoms because gays are, again, under attack.
We must ensure that the gay population of this country and all countries is heard at the bar table in the proceedings. It is important that our common law rights, statutory legal rights ,and rights under Humanitarian Law are heard and protected.
Gay Freedoms are under attack in what is supposed to be a first world , democratic ,liberal, and secular country where homosexuality is not a crime and gay marriage has recently been legislated. This could "catch on" in other countries unless challenged.
Such attack cannot be defended without separate legal representation .
The issue is very important, especially for gay youth around the world, their lives, employment, health, happiness and self esteem in our society. Left undefended, past reform and victories will be diluted, pyrrhic.
*All funds received will be held in a Controlled money legal escrow account to be expended soley for the legal proceedings. Any funds not so used will be refunded pro rata to the donors ( less gofundme commission and bank holding//accounting charges.)
