Legal Help to Small Boat Fishermen

We are trollers, hook and line commercial fishermen who bring aboard salmon one at a time, ensuring the highest quality possible food source. Our small boat fleet is spread throughout the pristine waters surrounding Southeast Alaska towns and villages.

Our small boat family-owned businesses can be found in every town in Southeast Alaska. Trolling is not only a source of income, but a way of life that has been active for well over 100 years. This is the oldest commercial salmon fishery on the west coast that clings to but a third of its historical harvest.

Alaska Trollers Association, our trade association, intervened in a lawsuit targeting their longstanding fishery and a subsequent injunction on behalf of our small boat fishermen. The assertions put forth in the courts are unfounded and would devastate our family businesses and communities.

Our initial fundraising effort got us nearly two thirds of the way through our anticipated legal proceedings. At this juncture, we need your help to get us through the final push of our legal defense bills.
