Legal & Supplemental Fees for Unlawful Arrest

My name is Sahmara. I am a senior student at Emory University.

I was one of the students intimidated, brutalized, and then illegally arrested for exercising my first amendment right as a participant of the School Encampment/Stop Cop City protest on April 25, 2024.

We were met with unnecessary brute force after attempting to march and were shot with pepper bullets, tased, and charged by the Atlanta Police Department, Emory Police Department, and State Troopers.

I was violently detained after being forcefully tackled to the ground by two male officers.

I was wrongfully charged with disorderly conduct by the Emory Police Department, for peacefully expressing my first amendment right.

I am in need of financial support to cover legal and supplemental fees after these events.
