CANNABIS:
Cannabis no longer needs introducing. Cannabis no longer needs explaining. Americans have united - speaking out about their support of Cannabis, and now 33 States and more have passed laws “legalizing” some form of Cannabis. What Cannabis needs NOW is to be removed from the Controlled Substances Act ’s List of Schedule 1 Drugs .
THE AMEND IT RESOLUTION:
As authored and presented by former Alaskan Senator AND former Cannabis Sativa, Inc CEO Mike Gravel , the Amend It Resolution offers exactly that - proposing to the States that we deschedule Cannabis by amending the US Constitution -- the exact same way Prohibition was ended. The Resolution does not contain any suggested legislature beyond removing the Schedule 1 rating from Cannabis. The Amend It Resolution is the easiest, fastest, most economic path of least resistance to Cannabis legalization, bar none. #amendit
HOW PROHIBITION WAS ENDED:
The 21st Amendment, which ended Prohibition (repealing the 18th Amendment), was ratified in 1933. When made into law, the 21st Amendment became the only amendment ratified using the State Convention Method. In Article V , the US Constitution allows for a proposed amendment to become a part of the Constitution if ¾ of the States ratify it, and that is exactly how Prohibition was repealed.
HOW TO LEGALIZE CANNABIS:
In the State Convention Method , two-thirds of States ask Congress to organize a convention. The Amendment is proposed at this meeting. As in the congressional proposal method, the proposed amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of State conventions or State legislatures, as chosen by Congress.
When the Amend It Resolution is ratified, Cannabis will have its Schedule 1 designation removed. From there, Cannabis can be regulated like alcohol - taxed, governed and overseen at the State and Local levels. #legalizecannabis

Now this is the important part: WE DON'T need approval of the President. Or the Attorney General. Or anyone, for that matter - to propose the Amend It Resolution… WE THE PEOPLE have the power to bring the mission of Amend It to Congress.
