Legenda Scout Vehicle “Caddy”

Legenda are a registered charity mandated with finding the Missing of WWI/WWII in Latvia. Not only does Legenda Exhume these missing persons, they give them a dignified burial in a Military Cemetery as per the rules proscribed under local and International Laws.

Every missing person found a special effort is given to identify by way of their personal possessions/dog tags/local information. We work closely with the German War Graves Commission and are governed by the Latvian War Graves Commission.

Secondary to their main task Legenda work closely with the Police and Bomb Disposal teams to identify potential hazards for destruction. This amounts to tons per year.

This year is the 25th Anniversary and with over 20,000 MIA/KIAs recovered it’s time Tālis (The Boss!) gets a smaller truck to compliment the Teams Sprinter 4x4 - which has proven to be a great asset although maintenance costs are high.

Caddy - this smaller vehicle can be used to scout areas before the expeditions begin. It can also be used to drive to obtain permits for excavations as well double up as a transport vehicle for larger expeditions. In turn this vehicle will help keep the costs down for tasks where the Sprinter is not required.

We would really appreciate any help by way of donation towards are target of 10,000 CHF by the end of November 2024.

We plan to deliver the Caddy to the Head Volunteer in order for him to get the season of 2025 in good order.
