Legendary Jam Master Jay Landmark Mural Extension
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Kenya "Art1Airbrush" Lawton and I am fundraising to extend this world famous landmark mural to cover the rest of the empty space on the wall.
In 2002 I created the world famous Legendary Jam Master Jay Mural located at Run Dmc JMJ Way in Hollis Queens. Since then I have been restoring the mural every 5 years using my own funds and with the help and hard work of some of my airbrush students shown on ESPN's 30 for 30 "Royal in Hollis". The mural has been seen all over the world and is currently being shown on BET's "The Murder Inc Story" and Netflix's "Hip Hop Evolution".
I would like to extend the mural to cover the empty space on the wall, including the many other legends of Hollis titled "FROM HOLLIS TO HOLLYWOOD". The aim is to inspire the local youth to follow their dreams and become succesful. The mural will be an everyday reminder that they can make it too! This would also beautify the corner and commerate the accomplishments of the legendary Hollis and Queens Hip Hop artists and celebrities. The mural will include large portraits of LL COOL J, RUN DMC, A TRIBE CALLED QUEST, DJ HURRICANE, STEPHEN A. SMITH, ROYAL IVEY, SALT AND PEPA and MANY MORE.
The funds will be used for:
- Graphic and Digital art fees
- Weather resistant paints
- Airbrush supplies
- Lift equipment
- Generator
- Clearcoating supplies
- Labor
- Food
- Travel
- Insurance
- Projection equipment
- Surveillance cameras (To protect against vandalism)
This extension project has been and still is a dream of mine for over 10 years that I would like to accomplish.
Please donate generously to help me complete this long overdue project.
