Hi, my name is Lei Ann Larson and I am running for Mayor for the City of Manteca in California. I am a proud 10th Generation American descendant of early (1600s) Scott Irish, Welsh, German and Africans (first free people) arriving in America to make a better life for their families. I have a unique perspective as an American because I am a direct descendant of Quakers who banned slavery early on, while also being a direct descendant of slaves. I am also extremely honored to be a direct descedant of a man who fought U.S. Immigration in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in the 1940s, and whose case paved the way for thousands of immigrants to be awarded citizenship. I am a proud lifelong Catholic but believe in respecting all views; my husband is an inactive member of the LDS church.

I take my duty as an American seriously; it is a privilege and an honor. I believe in democracy, and believe that as an elected official, I have an obligation to listen to the People that I serve and to ensure their voices be heard. This is the American way.

I am the only female candidate running against two men currently sitting on the City's Council. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with an emphasis in finance, and have been in the legal profession for over 30 years. I am a mother, a grandmother, and a proud wife of an American Trucker! I pledge to support the backbone of our community - Police, Fire, Teachers and all employees of the City. I value you, I see you, and I hear you.
