Lei of Aloha for Maui - Our MOST Significant Lei

Lei of Aloha is a group of volunteers from across the State of Hawai`i committed to bringing ALOHA using a mile-long ti leaf lei as our symbol of connection and unity. It reminds us WE ARE ONE.

This is our 19th Lei since 2015 when we began after the bombing in Paris, France. Since then we have brought ALOHA to Orlando, Florida after the Pulse Nightclub shooting killed 49 people, to Parkland Florida where 17 people were killed to our most recent Lei was delivered to The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee after 6 people were killed.

We also honor powerful occasions like the return of the Hokule`a after her worldwide voyage and a very special Lei to Mauna Kea in 2019.

Lei for Maui is our most significant work yet. We have waited for permission and invitation to begin to weave this Lei and are grateful to leadership and guidance from cultural monitors from the West Side.

You can support the work we do to bring Aloha through this lei. We will also be gifting every family with a ti leaf plant to begin their regrowth process as well.

Our message is simple: We Are One. Our mission with Lei of Aloha is to send a powerful message of love, peace, and solidarity. Woven into each part of the lei is the reminder that we are all connected.
