Leia Bailey Coffin

This GOFUNDME page is regarding Leia Bailey Coffin and her family.

For the past 4 years, Leia has been battling a serious skin disease. Just over 2 weeks ago, she was rushed to the ICU at Strong Hospital in Rochester, NY. Leia was diagnosed with an acute infection and her body went into septic and toxic shock. In order to save her life, Leia's leg was amputated. Part of her hand is scheduled to be amputated as well. Leia is not out of the woods yet and has a long road to recovery. The health care expenditures to address and meet Leia’s needs are increasing and we do feel with lot's prayers and positive energy, Leia will be able to leave the hospital and live a full life. This GOFUNDME page has been created to cover health care costs, travel expenses for her immediate family (who live a few hours away from Rochester) to be at her side during this journey and materials required to re-tool her residence to become handicap accessible.

Leia’s Story: When we all think of Leia, the first thing that comes to my mind is her loving heart. Her heart is big and full. So big, that in fact she dedicated her career in Case Management for helping families navigate through challenging times. Leia is also a single mother to her son, Tyler. Tyler along with Leia’s parent’s Polly & Charlie Bailey, her sister Lisa Bailey Vavonese, her brother in-law Bob Vavonese, her niece and nephew, several aunts, uncles and cousins have all provided her with much strength and positive energy to her as she adjusts to her new life.
