Leia's emergency vet bill

My name is Christine and if you know me you know how much love I have for my dog, Leia. I'm an Air force veteran, I have served overseas, and I love my country. Since I rescued Leia, she has been my safe place. I would die for my dog and although it greatly hurts my pride doing this, I would do anything for her, so this is why I'm here. 

 Last night we went on a hike and she chased a squirrel, that's the usual "norm" for her and although I don't encourage it, sometimes she does manage to get one and naturally has a blast. As she ran through pricker bushes, she unfortunately got a thorn caught deep inside her eye. I've never heard her cry like that, and my heart immediately sunk, she had blood and tears running down her face. I rushed her to Tufts emergency hospital and they had to perform emergency surgery to save her eye. Although, she will never quite see again the same way, they managed to save her vision. The funds will be used to pay her medical expenses. If we manage to exceed the amount, I will donate it to the Charleston Dog shelter in Arkansas, where she came from and who I owe all my happiness to.
