Leiarnna's Championship Fundraiser

Please help me fund my daughters State, National and World Championship campaign in 2024.

My daughter, Leiarnna Ferguson is a proud Australian Filipino, she is 11yo. Leiarnna is from Clunes in Country Victoria and is a grade 6 House Captain at Creswick Primary School. Leiarnna is an accomplished sportsperson who has proudly represented the Ballarat Region at a National level.

For her 2023 achievements Leiarnna was recognised by the Ballarat Sports Foundation and was a runner up in the prestigious Bendigo Bank, Creswick District, Jarad Talent Awards.

Leiarnna has been practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since the age of six. Last year as a grey belt, Leiarnna ranked number 1 Nationally in the Australian Federation of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In her division she claimed the National Championship and 5 individual State Titles.

On Mother’s Day this year, Leiarnna claimed the first of the 2024 State titles becoming Victorian State Champion in her newly promoted division of yellow belt.

Up until the end of last year Leiarnna trained locally in Ballarat. In December Leiarnna was assessed by the most accomplished junior coach in Australia, with the recommendation that followed the decision was made to move her training base to G-Force Brazilian Jiu Jitsu located at Fawkner in Melbourne where she now represents the Australian Elite Team.

With a shot at a World Championship in her sights this move was necessary, however it has not been without its challenges. Since January Leiarnna has trained up to 3 hours a day 6 days a week, more recently cross training with swimming and running. The logistics and financial burden have been a nightmare to say the least, but her gains have been absolutely amazing.

Leiarnna at her young age is a highly motivated athlete. Her goal is to win a World Championship at the biggest junior tournament in the world, the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation Pan Kids Championships to be held at Florida, USA in July of this year.

Leiarnna is the eldest of my 3 primary school aged children. I am a single father trying to do the best I can for my kids, I own a lawn mowing and gardening business which I operate during school hours. It’s been tough training at Fawkner, my work hours have been reduced as I need to pick up the kids early from school in order to be on time for training. Additionally, 3 hours of daily travel have had a significant financial impact.

I am reaching out to the community and friends, our Jiu jitsu family near and far and asking for your help and support to give my daughter Leiarnna the opportunity to chase her dreams and have a serious crack at bringing home a World Championship.

All donations will directly support Leiarnna by assisting with travel, accommodation, and training costs for her 2024 National and International campaigns.

Leiarnna is a serious contender, she’s worked so hard. She has a work ethic that you wouldn’t expect to see in someone her age. I concede I may sound bias but there are a lot of others saying the same thing, she is truly an amazing kid.
