Leigh's Battle with Neuroblastoma

Donation protected
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our little angel, Leigh Adeline M. Rosales, last June 26, 2024. She was almost 6 years old. She left behind her parents, AC and Nel, and her big brother, Gabe.

Leigh was diagnosed with Stage 4 high-risk neuroblastoma back in the Philippines in 2021 when she was only 3 years old. She underwent surgery and other treatments -- the treatments helped but they were also very rough on her small body. During this time, the family did everything they can to sustain Leigh's medical expenses -- including taking out loans, selling properties and receiving donations from families and friends.

In August 2023, the whole family moved to Canada. Two days after they arrived, Leigh became very sick. She was admitted in the hospital for almost 2 months. During this time, Leigh did not have any medical coverage, so the family paid all her medical bills out of pocket -- and it wasn't cheap. Thankfully after 2 months, Leigh's disease burden was reduced and she was able to regain some strength. She got to enjoy her first (and last) Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas in here Canada.

In January 2024, she started another set of treatments. Sadly, Leigh did not respond well given that her neuroblastoma was very aggressive. She started to develop lesions in her brain, abdomen, and lungs -- which made breathing very hard and pain was unimaginable for such a small child. A few months ago, Leigh's medical team advised her family that, unfortunately, they had exhausted all treatments, and the best way to help her at that point was to stop all treatments and provide comfort measures.

Despite the difficult battle that Leigh faced, she showed incredible strength and faith. Her character as a loving and playful child still prevailed. Leigh had the strongest faith in God. She used to talk to God in a personal way. We are certain that she is now talking to Him in Heaven.

Leigh was the strongest, smartest, and most mature 5-year-old that I have ever met. In her little time in this world, she has touched many hearts. Help us do the same thing for her family. Let us support AC and Nel with any amount to help pay for Leigh's funeral bills and leftover (significantly large) medical bills.

We appreciate your generosity and kindness. May God bless you :)
