Soldier & Family in Need

Friends, have you ever questioned your faith in something once taken for granted? In our system of justice, or the triumph of right over wrong?  I come before you asking for your financial support in an effort to aid Danielle and Matthew LeMire. Matthew was just sentenced to prison for no clear crime, they have lost income, their housing, and freedom. Danielle now has to deal with these very real burdens all while expecting their first child.

In November 2017, a terrible accident occurred during deployment. As a result of this devastating set of circumstances, a young soldier lost his life. Confusion, shock and emotion immediately set in. Exactly what happened, and how it happened, may never be known. Despite a lengthy and thorough investigation, no physical evidence exists linking the firearm to any individual soldier. No video records the incident and written accounts taken from the soldiers thereafter are inconsistent at best. Now there seem to be more questions than answers. On February 28th, 2019, despite the lack of  evidence, Matt LeMire was sentenced to prison.  Matthew alone has been left to shoulder the blame for this terrible tragedy, while his wife Danielle endeavors to balance their future.

Matt is an excellent human being who is loved deeply. He has been, and continues to be, a force for good in the world, seeking to serve his country, provide for his family and help anyone in need. This was evidenced in his courtroom at Fort Polk, packed with supporters, bewildered and devastated by the verdict. While Matt begins to serve his sentence, and the appeal process gets underway, his family is at a loss, emotionally and financially. Matt and his wonderfully supportive wife, Danielle, have incurred debt exceeding $80,000 for legal expenses.

Danielle and Matthew need support during these sternest of days. They need your support to help cover the enormous debt already incurred, and support to assist in his appeal. Most importantly, Danielle and Matthew need our support to provide for their unborn child.
