Bennett & Georgie's Lemonade for a Leukemia Cure
Tax deductible
Make the ZEST of life! Let's turn LEMONS INTO LEMONADE and make blood cancer TROUBLES MELT LIKE LEMON DROPS.
In 2016 my grandma, Baba, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a blood cancer known as AML. After her first round of chemo, she was discharged from a one-month hospital stay on my 3rd birthday. Best birthday present ever. She continued fighting the disease with more chemo and ultimately received a stem cell transplant from an amazing donor. Amid the uncertainties of her recovery, I hosted my first lemonade stand fundraiser on Mother's Day weekend the following year in hope of helping. As my parents explained, cancer research relies on contributions, and every bit helps.
Seven years and 70 gallons of lemonade later, I am on a mission more than ever to "squeeze the day" and make a difference. AML has got to go. It is an aggressive type of cancer and ruthless opponent with tough complexities. To honor the courageous AML warriors in my family, like my Baba and my dear cousins' Nana who was sadly taken by the disease, I pledged to continue fundraising. In recognition of hard-fought battles and hope for a much-needed cure, please join me - and my little sister! - by raising a glass of lemonade on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
You're invited to:
BENNETT & GEORGIE'S 8th ANNUAL LEMONADE STAND
SATURDAY, JUNE 1, 2024
11am - 1pm (and perhaps longer)
17917 MADISON ROAD,
SOUTH BEND, IN 46614
Proceeds go directly to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for blood cancer research. We've raised $5,700 over the last seven years, and for this eighth year I'm trying to add another $300 for the charity to reach $6,000 in total. For those who cannot attend the lemonade stand on Saturday, June 1 or prefer to give online, I hope you'll consider supporting the fundraiser at this site. (Also of consideration, an online donation provides record of your charity donation for tax purposes.)
Thank you for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me and my family. Supporting blood cancer research is "easy peasy lemon squeezy!"
Cheers to a cure,
Bennett
