Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued love, support, and generosity. I am forever grateful for each and every one of you. Despite endless help from both sides of the family(child care, financial, and shelter), the family members of Deepa Roberts humbly ask for financial support for her young family at this difficult time.Once upon a time, a young woman named Shantha (Deepa ), a special education teacher , embarked on a life-altering journey, Despite major familial help
on both sides of the family (childcare financial, and shelter). It all began when she was first diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a condition that threatened to reshape her life.
As the years passed, Shantha encountered yet another obstacle, this time on her path to motherhood.

Determined to bring joy and support to her son, who had recently been diagnosed with a rare genetic condition, she made the difficult decision to momentarily pause her MS medication in order to conceive. This selfless act reflected her unwavering commitment to provide her son with the support he needed.

With the desire to expand her family to provide companionship for her son, Shantha faced the heartbreaking reality that getting pregnant again was not happening as quickly as she had hoped. Faced with this emotional hurdle, along with selecting embryos that did not have
The same genetic condition as her and her son, she turned to the incredible world of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), which also meant more time away from much needed medication to slow the progression of her MS. IVF, which she underwent twice, took a significant toll on her body, both physically and emotionally. Yet, her determination to give her children the best possible chance at a bright future spurred her onward.

During this challenging time, life took an unexpected turn. Shantha started experiencing seizures, and her health began to decline rapidly. She found herself grappling with the cruel reality of secondary progressive MS, a condition that lacked a definitive therapy. It was a heart-wrenching transformation, and she felt as though she was caught in a train wreck waiting to happen.

Despite the immense challenges she faced, Shantha never lost hope. Miraculously, amidst the chaos, she discovered she was pregnant with twins. This unexpected joy brought a glimmer of light to her life. However, the post-pregnancy period proved to be incredibly difficult.

After carrying her beautiful twin girls to “full term” and undergoing a C-section”, walking became arduous- which meant walking aids like canes and wheelchairs, talking became a challenge, a complete lack of bladder and bowel control,
her brain struggled to function properly, her left eye began to fail her, she was exhausted and could not sleep at the same time, heat & cold exhaustion- so no stroller walks or playtime with the kids and not even a simple pleasure- like a hot shower was doable, at the same time a complete lack of fine motor skills and even drinking fluids became a struggle. Her body was slowly betraying her, but her spirit remained resolute.

Now, Shantha stands at a critical juncture in her life. She seeks the strength and support necessary to provide her children with the care they deserve. The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will enable her to ensure her children are taken care of even after she is unable to work, handicapping the home and vehicles and , possibly, seeking alternative therapies to help relieve her of her symptoms old and new in order for her to show up the best for her children each and every day.

Together, let us rally around Shantha in her quest to overcome the trials of Multiple Sclerosis. Any contributions we receive will help provide relief and hope during this very difficult time and help relieve some of the emotional and physical toll this takes on her everyday.

Join us in writing the next chapter of Shantha’s story, one filled with hope, resilience, and triumph over the challenges that MS has placed before her. Together, we can make a profound difference in her life and the lives of her precious children.
