Lemus Girls Relief Fund

On May 14, 2016, the Oxnard Police Department was contacted regarding two subjects found deceased inside their residence in south Oxnard. When officers arrived, it was determined that the husband and wife had suffered gunshot wounds and died. Investigators arrived and later determined that this had been a domestic violence related homicide. The husband had shot his wife and subsequently turned the gun on himself, taking both their lives.
This horrible tragedy left behind two additional victims. The couple had two daughters, 18 year old Ashley Lemus, who was preparing for her high school graduation this June. They also left behind their 12 year old daughter, Brenette Lemus. At a time when these young girls should be enjoying some of the best times of their lives, this senseless act has irrevocably changed their lives forever.
The Oxnard Peace Officer’s Association has set up a Go-Fund Me account on behalf of these young girls and made a donation to assist with some of the unforeseen and future costs for two girls that no longer have a mother or father. Through no fault of their own they are now left without the two most important people to help guide them through this immediate tragedy and their uncertain future.
It is our hope that this event, though horrible and tragic, can push the power of social media and the good will of everyone that reads this to help these girls with even a small gesture that will assist them to transition into a life without their mother or father.
