Lena “Nita” Serrano Fundraiser

Hello to everyone, This is Joann & Latoya. Our families, friends and ourselves are raising funds for our Sister/GodSister Lena “Nita” Serrano, she is 41 and was recently advised that her two year battle with cancer has spread to her Brain and there is nothing further the doctors can do. We are trying to raise $45,000 for funeral and end of life expenses. Any left over proceeds will go to her children. (Nita) I’m a single mother of 2 and love my children with all my heart. Raised in Brooklyn, now residing in Staten Island. I was diagnosed with cancer over two years ago. I have been through radiation and chemo at the same time and the cancer kept coming back. Now the cancer has spread to my brain and I was advised that I have less than two months to live. This has not been easy and hurts to say good bye, so I will say see you later for now. This has physically and emotionally been a painfulII battle but I am still here and still have some fight left in me. I’m trying to raise the money so my family can take care of my funeral and other expenses that goes along with this battle. Any left over proceeds will go to my children. I want to thank those closest to me who knew my struggles and battle with cancer, the ones who gave me courage to keep going, the ones who are fighting this battle with and for me, the friends that laughed and joked our way through the tears, my family that muscles through their tears to be strong for me when I can’t be strong for myself, and the ones who are continuing to keep my family and I in their prayers. Please don’t cry for me, Cancer is not taking me out without a fight! Just know that I am fighting hard and to the very end.
