Lend a Heart - and Lungs - for Kevin

Kevin Arceneaux was born at Houston Methodist Hospital on July 10, 1969, with a congenital heart defect. He was given a 4-year life expectancy if our parents did not elect to pursue a surgical procedure. At 18 months old, Kevin underwent corrective open-heart surgery. World-renowned Dr. Michael DeBakey performed the Mustard Procedure while Dr. Denton Cooley assisted at Texas Children’s Hospital.

By the grace of God, Kevin was able to live a happy life with his wife and 5 wonderful children until he went into cardiac arrest at 53 years old. In September 2022, he was placed on the Heart and Lung transplant list at Houston Methodist Hospital and on June 23, 2023, he was notified there was a donor match. The next morning, he underwent a heart and double lung transplant.

Today, Kevin is currently receiving 24-hour medical care to recover from his surgery. We are 100% positive that he will make a complete recovery!

If you know Kevin, there is no doubt that he has encouraged you, fed you, and made you smile. Kevin’s hard work, positivity and caring heart has made him the strong person he is today. He faces a long road to recovery. Any funds that you can bless him with will go towards his care and living expenses.

A donor decided that they wanted to give the ultimate gift, life. Kevin has expressed his gratefulness and love. We pray for the donor and their family.
