Lend A Helping Hand To Maria Mincey
Greetings potential supporters, we are a group of family and friends fundraising for a most amazing deserving gal named Maria Mincey. Our goal is to raise enough funds to purchase a bionic hand for Maria.
Maria was born with a difference known as symbrachydactyly. Her left hand did not complete the formation process in utero, so she essentially has no left hand. Her ability to adapt developmentally astounds those who are privileged to know her. This difference does not stop Maria from attempting all the activities any ten year old enjoys, however she longs to simplify ordinary activities like jump roping or opening a jar. Her interests include: music (specifically guitar), art, design, athletics, bead work/jewelry making, rollerskating and collecting stuffed animals.
Maria spends much of her free time imagining and creating worlds while she explores the woods surrounding her home. She now resides with her loving grandparents due to the tragic loss of her mother in fall of 2019. In spite of the many struggles faced during her ten years on Earth, Maria continues to extend a helping hand and heart of love toward her fellow human. She deserves full access to this life. Her interest in the Hero Arm has opened an entirely new life for her.
The Hero Arm is provided by Open Bionics, a company dedicated to giving children with limb differences an amazing tool for life. A Hero Arm ranges from $10,000-$20,000 depending on the warranty package chosen. It is a full bionic arm/hand and would allow Maria to grip using myoelectric signals & manual adjustments. Since Maria was born without her hand, she has had to adapt and invent interesting ways of accomplishing everyday tasks. This forces her to put a lot of strain on her right hand and if she receives the Hero Arm it will alleviate both struggle and strain.
Please join us in supporting this incredible young lady! Any support is appreciated greatly! If you're interested in reading more about the Hero Arm visit https://bionicsforeveryone.com/open-bionics-hero-arm/
