Lenis M Vega

Hello, my name is Wendie Vega. My little sister, Lenis, just turned 40 years old. She has Helmansky Pudlak Syndrome (it comes with having Oculo-cutaneous Albinism), and the condition predisposed her to certain conditions that could be fatal. Some of the lungs, or the intestines, blood clotting problems and so on. She has always been healthy throughout her life and very active. Consistently achieving and doing everything that she wanted to accomplish.

Sadly, during the month of January 2019, while in training for a new job. She caught the flu from her trainer. She ended up in the hospital with pneumonia and respiratory failure (ARDS) for 11 days; from then on, her health has declined. In 2020, she was diagnosed with end-stage Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. This is one of the conditions that people with Albinism could be predisposed to. She needs to move back to the states so she can get evaluated and start working towards getting a double lung transplant.

She is a fighter. I want to ensure she has some financial support for the big move ahead and settling down close to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
