Lennon’s Hospital Bills

Donation protected
As many of you know, my dogs are the most important thing to me. I rescued Lennon 2.5 years ago from the ASPCA and he has been such a good buddy to me since then: he kept me company when I lived alone in the city, we love going to the park and beach together, and his sweet and calm demeanor has honestly brought me so much peace and happiness.

A few days ago, Lennon was struggling to breathe and we learned he had fluid in his lungs and stomach due to heart failure. I’ve known about his heart and kidney disease for a while and he’s been on daily medicine, but he’s now in heart failure. The hospital has had Lennon for 2 days and at this point, the doctors have removed the fluid from his lungs and tummy and they’ve been successful in treating him for his heart condition. However, the medicine they’re giving him for the fluid is negatively affecting his kidney now, so they need to keep him the hospital for a third day. Now that he no longer needs that medicine, they’re taking him off it and hoping that his kidney will be better by tomorrow. If it’s not, we will have an extremely difficult decision to make tomorrow. If his kidney is better tomorrow, we can treat his heart failure with medicine and we could have Lenny around for another 6 months - 1 year. This would give him more time with us and hopefully mean he could be at our wedding. Hopefully we will be able to take him home tomorrow.

This has been very hard for us emotionally. We would do anything for our dogs, and it’s hard grasp that this may be out of our control.

This has also been hard financially. Lennon has already been hospitalized for 2 days and has 1 more to go. We took him 2 hours away to NC State animal hospital to make sure he’s getting the care he needs for his heart.

We will find a way to make this work, but some help would be great. I know it sounds cliche, but really anything you could donate would really help us. What we’re asking for isn’t even the total of what his bills will be.

I hope you can help, because Lennon is literally the best dog. He had such an unfair first 6-7 years of life and we’ve been doing everything in our power to give him a better life.

He deserves more time in this happiest stage of his life. Please help us give him that. Thank you for reading.
