Lenny DeFranco’s Medical Bills & Health Insurance

Hi everyone. My name is Jen and I am starting this GoFundMe for my dad, Lenny DeFranco. Many of you may know that two years ago we had another one of these set up to help with my dad's reoccurrence of his tongue cancer, and it was a huge help and covered pretty much all of his medical bills and supplies, so first off let me say THANK YOU!!

Sadly, we are here again. On January 11, 2023 we found out that the cancer has come back, but this time it is stage 4 and in his jaw bone and tongue. While my dad did not want to have another surgery, after many doctor appointments of exploring nonsurgical options, it looks like surgery is going to be the only option for a cure.

This surgery is going to be more extensive. It will entail the following; a trach (again), a feeding tube (probably permanently) and removing part of the bone in his leg to replace the part of his jaw that they will be removing. Surgery will last about 10-12 hours and will be at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. This will also be the last surgery my dad will be having. Should there be any reoccurrence, which could happen, the doctors said surgery will not be an option after this. We expect this to occur sometime in February or beginning of March.

Many of you know my dad, he is first and foremost a believer in Jesus Christ, an amazing husband to my mom, a wonderful dad to me and my two siblings, and super cool POPPY to 8 grandchildren. God has recently blessed him with the opportunity to pastor a church, Union Gospel Missionary Church while continuing to be a respiratory therapist at St. Mary's Hospital.

I know there is a lot here to read and for that I am sorry, I am long-winded like my father..haha. But if you can help donate, any funds collected will go to my dad's medical bills, supplies, therapies, and normal life expenses that he may need help with during or after surgery.

While this has all been scary and sad for our family, we trust that God has a plan for my dad and he will continue to use my dad and his story to further spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
