Neighbors, Family, and Friends,
My name is Matt and I'm a food and beverage professional and Greenwich Village resident. In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis we are all facing, my partner, Haley, and I found ourselves desperate to do something to help our Greenwich Village community.
Putting our heads together, we identified our two overwhelming concerns: giving back to our neighborhood healthcare heroes at Lenox Health Greenwich Village (LHGV), who are working tirelessly and putting themselves at personal risk to treat COVID-19 patients, and supporting our beloved local restaurants, who are really hurting at this time.
After reading about the challenges of getting healthy meals to the healthcare workers who are on the frontlines of this crisis, we reached out to LHGV. As we suspected, nutritious and nourishing meals are much needed.
To start, we are aiming to provide the 100 person medical staff at LHGV with dinners from two of our favorite healthy Greenwich Village staples, Taim (222 Waverly Pl) and Westville West (210 W 10th St), who have offered to partner with us. But we need your help!
Please join us in supporting the Lenox Health Greenwich Village medical staff and our local Greenwich Village restaurant businesses through this small gesture of gratitude. 100% of funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used to purchase meals from Taim and Westville, so each business can serve Lenox Health Greenwich Village medical staff while helping themselves stay afloat.
The cost of feeding one dinner to the 100 person medical staff at LHGV is approximately $1,500 (all taxes + fees included). Our initial goal is to raise $6000, in order to fund 4 dinners for LHGV staff. Any donation, large or small, is so greatly appreciated.
