Lenz Family IVF Fund

Donation protected

Susan and I met in 2010 and married in 2013. After we married we spent the first few years of our new life together growing our careers and building our financial future. We bought a wonderful home in 2014 in a fantastic community where I volunteer for the high school as an instructor.

Aside from our love of board games, Disney, and Legos, Susan and I treasure the time we spend with our friends' families and especially with own own adorable 7 year old niece, Lottie.  Realizing our love for children, we decided to start a family of our own.

Unfortunately, after two years of trying, including the assistance of a fertility clinic, fertility medication, and an IUI, further evaluation found that natural conception was not medically possible and that the only option left to start a family was IVF. This news was delivered in January of 2020, and since our insurance does not cover fertility procedures, plans for saving for the procedures quickly began.

At the end of January, however, I was included in a mass layoff from my role, and then a few weeks later CoVID hit the US, causing multiple employment opportunities to be withdrawn. After a difficult four months of job hunting, during which time Susan worked overtime and did everything she could to keep us afloat and save every extra penny, I found a new career with a wonderful company and, as luck would have it, one that allows me to work 100% remotely to give the opportunity to stay at home with our future baby!

After over $2,500 worth of procedures, tests, prescriptions, and the like Susan and I are dedicated to continuing down our path to parenthood and have begun the process for IVF. Unfortunately, the next stage requires payment in full for the procedure itself, which is $14,500, as well as ordering the $5,000 worth of medications and injections and additional $500 for lab work/diagnostics. Even with a recent mortgage refi and other financial moves made to cover these costs, four months of unemployment can set back financial plans for a number of years, and Mother Nature's clock says that right now is the best time to start.

Susan and I are dedicated to being the absolute best parents we can be and are 100% focused on creating the best home we can for baby Lenz, including the willingness to go into debt to realize this dream, but we are asking for your help in alleviating this financial and emotional strain and help out in anyway you can.

There is no such thing as a donation that is too small, and know that even if you cannot give financially that generosity comes in all sizes, so please continue to send your love, prayers, and emotional support while Susan and I continue this journey towards our dream of starting a family.

Thank you for all your love and support and for giving us this chance to bring baby Lenz into the world!!
