Leo Greyhound’s Osteosarcoma Amputation and Chemo
Hiii friends! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Leo the Greyhound. I started limping on 6/4/21, so humans took me to the vet the following morning. They did some tests and X-rays and it was determined that I have osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in my right rear leg. We also consulted with Dr. Couto, a leading greyhound cancer specialist. I am 8 years old and the cancer hasn’t shown up in my lungs, so we have decided to have my leg amputated and do 6 rounds of chemo. We met with the surgeon yesterday at the cancer clinic and I’m set to have my surgery on Tuesday, June 15th. My amputation and chemo will roughly cost $9k. My humans just purchased our first home in February and have their wedding coming up at the end of this year, so bills are tight. It would mean the world to me and my humans for any donations that can help with my treatment costs. Even if it’s $1! Any amount would be much appreciated. We will be sharing my journey through the whole process on my Instagram page:

My humans have been absolutely devastated (I don’t think I’ve ever seen my dad cry before), but I promised them I’m one tough dog cookie and I’ll get through this like a champ.
Thank you so much, everyone! The outpour of love we’ve been receiving is absolutely incredible and so touching. We’ll keep you posted along the way!
