Support for Leonard Hill

On January 1, 2019, while most where celebrating bringing in a New Year, Leonard and Jackie faced a harsher reality. Doctors discovered that Leonard had a lytic tumor on his left hip that was determined to be cancerous. After a biopsy, multiple tests, and two weeks in the hospital, Leonard was released and met with his radiologist for the diagnosis and next steps. The details known at this time were shared by Leonard in this email sent January 17:

"After meeting with the radiologist today he told me I have a chordoma. A chordoma is a rare type of cancerous tumor that can occur anywhere along the spine, from the base of the skull to the tailbone. Chordomas grow slowly, gradually extending into the bone and soft tissue around them....mine started on my tailbone....Texas Oncology does not have the facilities to treat this form of cancer...They have transferred my case to MD Anderson  Houston...I will find out on Tuesday when that process will begin...Thanks in advance as I begin this new journey.."

Leonard Hill is to all of us a friend, a family member, a supporter, and a constant in each of our lives. He and Jackie have placed their faith in God and the doctors at MD Anderson. We have been blessed by his friendship and loyalty over the years.

The only thing that Leonard has ever asked for through this journey is prayer.  Please pray for him. Pray for complete healing. Pray that he will be fully restored to his pre-cancer health.  Please pray for Jackie. Pray that she will have peace and comfort as she walks hand in hand with Leonard on this journey. 

However, we know that this cancer will take Leonard and Jackie to Houston for treatment.  We know that this will be a stressful and expensive time for the Hills.  We have started this GoFundMe page in hopes that enough funds would be raised to help out with hotel expenses, transportation costs, prescriptions, and other living expenses while he is undergoing treatment. Any amount you are able to donate is appreciated and will help Leonard and Jackie is this next chapter.
