Hi family and friends,
We have created this gofundme page to help with the funeral and final expenses of our loved one Leonard "Lennie" Borres. Leonard passed away on December 19, 2023, after a long battle with end-stage renal disease. When he started dialysis, doctors said he would only live for a couple of years, but he defied the odds and spent 8 more years with his family.
For those of you who knew him, we will always remember his smile, generosity and hospitable demeanor. He always made sure everyone was well-fed and comfortable. We would never get tired of his funny jokes and extreme fishing stories. He had a passion for music, wildlife, food, and movies. His wife, daughters and grandchildren and all who knew him are grieving the loss of such a huge part of their family.
He was and always will be the epitome of a selfless family man, a peacemaker, who valued hardworking and humble values. He would give the shirt off his back and give up his last piece of bread if it meant he could help someone in need. The world is just not the same without him. May he rest in paradise with endless buffets of his favorite foods, dancing to his favorite romantic ballads, endless catch of the biggest fish, with no more meds, treatment and pain.
His famous advice and love language; always have rice cooked, leave the light on for someone, fill someone's gas tank, share half of your food, treat your friends, extend your home as a safe place, save your money, dance with your wife, sing songs out loud, work for what you have, life is short, indulge in lobster and crabs, enjoy the ocean, go fishing, go on long drives, take chances, play the lotto, go to the casino, things do not matter if you don't have your family by your side. Always hug kiss, say what's on your mind, have heart to heart talks and never get tired of saying I love you a million times a day.
Many of you have asked how you can help our family during this difficult time. In place of sending flowers, we ask that you donate to Lennie's funeral fund. His funeral will cost us $10,000+ to lay him to rest and We appreciate any donation to help the family.
Here is the link to his obituary where you can share condolences and get updates on his funeral. If you have any pictures or stories of Lennie, please share them on his website. If you are a kind soul that chooses to give to this cause, we send our blessings and gratefulness.
Thank you for your support!
