Leonard William Cordiner

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard William Cordiner on 13 September 2024.

Born in 1950 in Armidale, Len walked his first steps in Ebor in his parent's pub and his teenage years in Gladesville. Whether building canoes with Bob, his father or hot rods with his friends, he loved creating and fixing things- laying the groundwork for his life and knack for problem-solving.

His scholarship at Sydney University opened the world of chemistry to him and led to a career that took him around the world- from Austria to Japan, Nigeria to Vietnam. He embraced new challenges in every country and created an extended family of colleagues and life-long friends.

Len's love for his family was shared through happy moments and long talks over his signature 'Len burgers' and lasagne. He cherished creative time with his four grandchildren and walks with Sylvia.
Len lived a full and meaningful life, and his wisdom, humour, and resilience will live on in all those he touched.
