Help Leonie rebuild her foster for street animals!

Some of you may already know I’m adopting Osha, a street puppy from India who when I first found her was close to death showing signs of kidney failure. I found out about Leonie’s foster services and knew I wanted her to foster Osha until she was ready to fly over. Osha’s adoption has cost around £3000-4000 and completely self funded, but I really want to help Leonie in her time of crisis so please help me with this vision!

Leonie recently set up a foster home in South Goa and spent all of her money creating the perfect foster shed and space for injured and disabled animals. After everything was built and secured, her landlord then decided to double her rent which of course there was no way she could afford with the vision of starting a foster for sick animals and relying on donations, which forced her to move and start all over again. She gave up her life to care for animals and struggled to make the first foster home work, so this situation has been truly shocking for her! On top of helping injured animals, leonie has 13 dogs of her own (all rescues of course) including two new disabled puppies who had road traffic accidents. She’s incredible!

Due to the unexpected relocation Leonie urgently needs to raise funds for essential infrastructure maintenance. This includes concreting the fencing and shed to enhance security, cementing a new floor for durability, and installing electricity and plumbing to facilitate proper care and sanitation. Additionally, the transportation cages are essential for safely transporting animals in need, while moving her belongings over and painting and cleaning the outside garden will create a welcoming space for the strays. Leonie needs to transform the new place into a functional and comfortable environment for injured and sick animals as well as for the animals like Osha starting their new lives before flying to different countries.

Leonie saw dire circumstances faced by animals injured in traffic accidents or afflicted with diseases like parvovirus and aims to provide refuge where they can receive the care and attention they so desperately need. Through her tireless efforts, she wants to create a safe haven where vulnerable voiceless souls can find solace, medical treatment, and a second chance at life.

Leonie moved from the Netherlands to Goa and is one of the most selfless people I’ve ever had the pleasure of getting to know, she dedicates her life to caring for injured and disabled street animals. She’s a lifeline to animals who would otherwise stand no chance of survival. Her foster is a place for animals to heal both physically and emotionally. Through her tireless efforts, Leonie has bottle fed babies less than 2 weeks old where the mum was eaten by a leopard and even found loving homes in Goa.
