Leo's bone marrow transplant
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lisa. I am fundraising for my brave little grandson Leo, who is 1 years old and his amazing mummy and daddy.
Leo has Chronic Granulomatous Disorder. This disease is rare. Doctors find CGD in only 4 or 5 people per million.
Leo has basically no immune system, leaving him more susceptible to the simplest of bugs & common infections.
He has therefore been on daily medication since he has been diagnosed, with regular trips to the hospitals from mk to Oxford to London.
Leo has been in and out of hospitals since he was a baby. With so many illnesses due to CGD. Leo has had sepsis due to an abcess on the liver and many other health problems. He was/is always smiling, he is so resilient & smile constantly.
Leo has to have a bone marrow transplant.
Hopefully on the 16th of October 2023 he will be admitted to Great Ormond Street Hospital where they have found 2 matches for Leo from other countries, one is a 100% match.
This will involve chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Then a bone marrow transplant.
With this first step.
Leo will be in hospital for up to 3 months. Leo's mummy, daddy and i are the only ones who will be allowed to be with him throughout this treatment.
The funds will help my daughter and her partner with food and travel expenses. Also, things for Leo while he is staying in the hospital.
All & any donations however small would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you from the whole family.
❤️
