Lera Voe telephone box

Restore Lera Voe telephone box.
A place to pause, sit, take breath, contemplate, draw, shelter, remember, knit, meditate
Lera Voe phone box lost its door last winter in a gale. The telephone has now been removed and it is very quickly deteriorating. We would like to restore this iconic bit of local history.
We have purchased it from BT would now like to restore it. A new door, hinges, door closer, door handle, glazing and frames, glass sign and a coat of current red gloss. All these items are available to buy. We have a team of people willing to donate their time but need to raise the money for the parts and the cost of getting them to Shetland
Lera Voe phone box sits at the head of the Voe, looking out over beautiful rural landscape, sea, hills and the wildlife. A spot to watch seals and seabirds, sheep, rabbits, hedgehogs, otters and even a glimpse of an orca.
We would like the restored phone box to be a place to pause, sit, take breath, contemplate, draw, shelter, remember, knit, meditate. We would construct a bench to sit sheltered inside. The phone box has a history, we would like to collect its stories and share them. To have a visitors book to add more stories.
