Update - September 15, 2017

Thanks very much to all who were able to attend the birthday celebration last week. We partied like it was 1999. The silent auction and the gift card grab were huge successes. Thanks to all who donated. This week our Brother traveled to Houston to begin his pre-operative procedures. On next Thursday, September 21 Leroy will undergo liver surgery. We need everyone maintaining a vigil of prayer next week. Just like Leroy said last week at the party "I've got a feeling everything is gonna be alright."   If this is the Lord’s will, so shall it be!

Well we are almost there. Just $1100 shy of our $10,000 goal to assist our friend. Please help get this over the top prior to the birthday celebration on September 3 here in Charleston.

Leroy will have liver surgery on September 21 at M D Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. He will need to remain in Houston for about a month for follow up. His sister and other friends will be there with him for support.

Please continue to pray for Leroy's healing. Pray for the surgeon that will be performing the operation. Pray for his family that they will have the strength to endure.   
Thanks for all you have done and all you will continue to do for our dear friend.  

See you on Sept 3 for the party and if you are unable to attend please send him a card. I'm sure he would appreciate hearing from you.

Update - July 28.2017
Hello Team Leroy,
Our remarkable friend's battle continues. He has completed three rounds of chemotherapy. One more to go! Hugs may be off limits for awhile as he is currently dealing with a low white blood cell count. The August 14th trip back to M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas is a GO! The trip will prepare him for the possible major liver surgery in September also in Houston.

In the meantime we are going to party like it's 1999! SAVE THE DATE! Leroy's birthday is September 7, however on Sunday, September 3 we will celebrate in Charleston, SC. Further details to follow. Please join us if you can in the Holy City for this celebration of our friend. This will be a wonderful time to have fun and show your love. Hope to see you on Sunday, September 3 in Charleston!

 












Update  - June 29, 2017

Hello Team Leroy....our soldier/fighter/warrior is just incredible! What an example of courage, faith, hope, and love of God! He has successfully completed round one of chemo, with more to come.

Let’s keeping praying and helping! On August 14, 2017, Leroy will travel back toThe University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Houston for more tests and consultations with physicians.

Let’s pray for the cancer to leave his colon, let’s pray for the cancer to leave his liver, let’s pray for clear discernment and effective treatments from the doctors.

If you see Leroy, hugs are welcomed...he is amazing...soldiering on!!!!!

Update - June 2,  2017
Hello Team Leroy...thank you for your outpouring of love and care!  Because of your prayers and generous support, Leroy will travel next Thursday (June 8th) to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Houston Texas. There, he will meet with cancer experts to obtain a second opinion.  As he travels to Texas and return home, we pray that the Holy Spirit will lead him and give him discernment as he considers all his options and prepares for an extensive and extended period of treatment.  

 Let’s pray for traveling mercies and the Lord's will for healing and restoration for Leroy. 
 
After learning about the page, Leroy shared the following;

"The Lord moves in mysterious ways with wonders to perform. He has opened a world of blessings through your love and care. The expressions of concern, love and care from so many continues to glorify God and show all of us what selfless love can look like when it comes from the heart."

UPDATE...May 24, 2017
To Leroy’s beloved family and friends, thanks for your prayers, love and support. We are asking for your continued fervent prayers and support!! The doctors did not  perform the surgery last week as planned. Leroy is experiencing a stumbling block, but we’re trusting all of our combined intercessory prayers to prevail. We have faith, same as Leroy, in God’s power to heal and move all things, seen and unseen out of our path.

Dear Friends and Family,

Our dear brother Leroy is undergoing colon cancer surgery as we write to you today. Many of you may be aware that this is his second battle with cancer. We are hopeful that this will be his last and ask that you join us and pray that all goes well and that he has a speedy recovery.

Leroy will be in the hospital for a week and unable to return to work for an extended period.  We are asking that you join us and contribute to this fund to assist Leroy with his expenses. We had to wait until he was under anesthesia to set up this fund.

Please show your love and support for the many times Leroy has given you one hundred percent of himself. 
 
Sharing a note I received from Leroy...

“The Lord is mighty and I have given myself over to Him. He will direct the course of my treatment and I am confident of success. Please allow me to thank each of you for the unconditional love that has brought so many of us through trials over the years.  AMAZING!

 I am sharing this personal information because it may encourage one of you to go get your colon checked. Also, the Lord can use any of us to bring light to the faith challenges that each of us may face.”
