My name is Steve Leventhal and I have been in Chicago sports radio for thirty years. I've been fortunate to cover the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs, Northwestern, and the White Sox. That experience has brought me in contact with some of the most iconic sports journalists in Chicagoland. As President of SRN Broadcasting, I have produced a number of talk shows, including the “Weekend Sports Report” with Chicago icon Les Grobstein on WKRS-AM from 2010 - 2012.

When AM 1000 parted ways with Les, I hired him for one of our sports ventures, "The Pro Football Showdown" (see the video below) until WSCR nabbed him to work overnights, where he continued to grow his legacy.

I have also been privileged to serve as the studio engineer for Chicago Cubs play-by-play broadcaster Pat Hughes’ acclaimed series of tribute CDs – “Baseball Voices.”

I've now set my sights on writing a book on sportscaster Les Grobstein. He was a close friend who passed away too soon, and we all miss him terribly. The story of this iconic radio personality will be written in collaboration with his sister, Holli Grobstein Levine. Growing up as Les' younger sibling, she was also bitten by the sports bug and is a huge fan of the Blackhawks, Bears, and Bulls.

Our book will be a compilation of stories, recollections, and memories of Les. The foreword has been written by Tommy Edwards of WLS and will include contributions from family, colleagues, and even his fans and listeners. Everyone of Les' fans will have an opportunity to be part of this story.

Boutique publisher Eckhartz Press will be handling the printing. As a hybrid publisher, we will share the cost with Eckhartz. Therefore, we will be crowdfunding the initial print run of books.
