Help Les Beat Hodgkin's Lymphoma Fundraiser
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family of Les Haygood,
Today begins our fundraising campaign to help our dear friend and family member, Les Haygood as he battles Hodgkin's Lymphoma (stage four).
Last week, Les began the first round of chemotherapy. He is expected to be hospitalized an additional 2-3 weeks in order to make sure his immune system can withstand this particular "chemo cocktail".
The good news?! Hodgkin's Lymphoma is highly treatable. With excellent care and management, the survival rate is as high as 90%!
The less great news? The cost of four weeks in three different hospitals with numerous surgical procedures and future rounds of chemotherapy is going to be astronomical.
With a high insurance deductible and out-of-pocket costs that exceed more than 1/3 of Les' annual salary, we are asking for you to contribute any amount you can. Every dollar will count.
We are hoping to raise $18,500 to cover the cost of Les' insurance deductible. Perhaps we will even exceed our goal so that Les may return to his French and English classrooms by the start of the next school year?!
Thank you in advance for your kind participation in the fundraiser for everyone's funniest and most gifted French/English teacher. Les is a man and a mentor who has touched the lives of so many. Let's help him continue that legacy!
Please know we will keep everyone updated as we receive new information from Les.
Best Wishes,
