Les Vogt needs your help. He is in the hospital with valley fever and meningitis.
He was diagnosed with valley fever in November 2019. He was given treatment and seemed to improve over the holidays, but began to get worse in January. He continued to decline over the months, fighting fatigue and debilitating headaches. In February, we landed at the Mayo Infectious Disease Specialty Clinic. The doctor said the valley fever had spread to the central nervous system causing fungal meningitis, and Les was admitted. He was discharged after 10 days, but readmitted soon after with worsening symptoms. No word from the docs when he might be discharged again.
While online sales of the bits and spurs remains uninterrupted, Les hasn’t been able to do clinics since November. 2020 clinics and private lessons are on hold for the foreseeable future. The docs aren’t able to even estimate a date when he’ll be able to work again.
In the meantime, the house, insurance, utility payments, and medical bills continue. We anticipate the out-of-pocket medical expenses will be $100k or more.
We are blessed beyond measure in many, many ways. Financially, not so much after the last 6 months. We hope that your kind donation, whatever amount you’re able to give, will help keep the boat afloat until Les is able to work again.
