As many of you know by now our friend, partner, cousin, aunt, sister and daughter, Leslie Lalumondiere had an AVM rupture this past Monday, February 24th. This resulted in a brain hemorrhage which has been stabilized, and will require surgery to close off some clustered vessels in order to prevent further ruptures and begin the full recovery process. This surgery is expected to happen some time around March 14th, exact date to be determined. Leslie has been, and will remain, hospitalized at CPMC Davies campus and we believe she is receiving the very best care possible for this with the neurology experts there. She is comfortable (as can be) and surrounded by lots of love.
Leslie’s mom and dad flew in urgently to be with her, will be departing Thursday to go back to St. Louis to wrap up some business, and then will return for the surgery and beyond. Jeff, Leslie's boyfriend that she lives with, has been driving back and forth frequently from Monte Rio to be by her side as well. She will require in-patient rehab once recovered from the surgery, the exact regimen and timing unknown at this time.
Help is needed in order to alleviate some costs for Jeff, family and other caretakers for things like multiple anticipated flights back and forth, overnight stays to avoid hours on the road, as well as rent, living expenses with a lost income and other costs as they come up now or as needed for longer term care and comfort.
You are reading this because you are someone that cares deeply about Leslie and her loved ones and they have already felt your love and support as it has been coming in so many ways from every conceivable direction. Whatever you can do to contribute monetarily or via air miles will help her and those mentioned so much as she does her part in working hard to heal and come back to us all as the jubilant, fearless, compassionate and genuinely kind hearted woman you all know and love.
