Leslie Moore’s Recovery

Hi, my name is Rhonda Hinkle. I’m Leslie’s best friend. Leslie went into the hospital feeling really bad Sunday October 23. They figured out right away she was sepsis from an infection. They started her on IV antibiotics right away. Her heart rate and blood pressure was an issue so by early Monday morning they rushed her in for emergency surgery. They ended up having to do a hysterectomy due to the infection. She was on a ventilator after surgery for just a short time but was able to remove it. She does have pneumonia. She is currently on a lot of oxygen. She’s was on 14 liters but down to 10 liters as of this morning. She is being treated for Respiratory distress syndrome. Pulmonary will be in to see her. She is getting a lot of antibiotics and steroid through her iv’s along with pain and nausea meds. She’s getting LASIK to help with edema and fluid that’s build up. They did an echocardiogram on her heart and said that was all good. The internal medicine doctor and infectious disease doctor will still continue to work with her to figure this out. Still unsure of which infection started this or even how. OBGYN cleared her from their stand point and said her incision is looking great. I’m hoping to raise money to help ease the burden of having to pay her everyday bills and expenses. She does have health insurance but no short term disability. Leslie has always given to others. She’s worked in healthcare since she was 17 years old. She started out as a nurse aide and worked very hard to get to where she’s at. She is currently a physical therapist assistant helping others get stronger but now we need her to focus on herself getting better and stronger.
