from Maira:
22 years ago on July 4 @ 7:30 pm my beautiful fire cracker baby was born. When she was 3 months old she was diagnosed with Biliary atresia and required a liver transplant. At 14 months she was finally able to receive her new liver. The first 3 years were very rocky with multiple adjustment to her anti rejection medication. At the age of 13 she experienced rejection which was reversed but caused scarring to her organ.
Things were pretty stable for a few years. In 2021 she began to experience rejection again and no matter what they did to try and treat the rejection the liver was severely scarred. Leslie now needed a new liver. After several hospitals and multiple visits her liver was extremely ill. She was admitted to the hospital June 25 and she was experiencing multiple complications which caused her to be deactivated many times. Eventually it began to affect her kidneys which required her to need dialysis. From there it started going down hill and things started getting worse.
I can sit here and tell you guys more but it’s like going through it all over again. At this point there was nothing more than can do for her and she started experiencing multiple organ failure. Liver kidney lungs and heart was now all affected and surgery was no longer an option because she wouldn’t survive it. Now it was time to make the hardest decision in my life. Let her continue suffering till her body completely give out or stopping treatment and letting her go in peace.
We decided to let her go which you all know I didn’t want to do. Due to my beautiful Angel being an organ donor and to honor her wishes we have given the hospital till Monday morning to find as many recipients as they can. This is what my daughter wanted ever since we lost my mother whom need a double transplant. So on Monday August 7th we let my baby go as she gets to help several people in the process.
This funding will go to bringing my baby home and putting her to rest. Thank you all for the prayers love and support. This has been extremely hard on me as well as my whole family
