Leslie's Journey: Urgent Medical Supply Fund

My name is Tina Lewis. I am Leslie Marshall’s sister. To know Leslie is to love Leslie!!! She is the kindest, most loving person I know… Not only is she fighting brain cancer, but on November 2, 2024, she was admitted to the hospital with one of the worst cases of sepsis. Statistically, she shouldn’t be alive, but God's not done yet. She had to have half of her abdomen cut out, leaving a huge open wound about 5 cm deep by 22 inches wide by 14 inches long. The wound will have to stay open for up to 2 years. She stayed in the hospital for almost 2 months. Her insurance won’t pay for her to stay any longer. So, they sent her home for her husband to care for her, having to change her bandages twice a day. As we are so very grateful she gets to be home, it comes with a very expensive price…. With the size and seriousness of her wound, the cost of the supplies to change her bandages is approximately $100 a day. Insurance will not cover the cost of the supplies. With only one income, that is too much for anyone to be able to afford.
