Lessening The Burn

Donation protected
On July 5th, Matt Lavalley was severely burned by a bonfire. He received 2nd and 3rd degree burns on both legs and feet. He has been hospitalized for almost 2 weeks going on 3. Matt will need to remain immobile for at least a month.
Treatment has consisted of  having to scrub the burnt skin off of his legs every day, so new skin can grow. Which is extremely painful. Skin grafting was done to both legs on July 17th. The grafts were taken from his entire upper right thigh, from hip to knee, which again, is extremely painful. He has to have a wound VAC attached to his body for 5 days. Vacuum-assisted closure of a wound is a type of therapy to help wounds heal. It's also known as wound VAC. During the treatment, this device decreases air pressure on the wound. ... It can gently pull fluid from the wound over time. This can reduce swelling, and may help clean the wound and remove bacteria.
For those of you that may not know, this couldn’t have come at a worse time. As of today, Matt and Keri’s wedding is just a mere 9 days away. And for those of you that do know, this wedding means more to Matt than any man I’ve ever seen. He can not wait to marry the love of his life! Sadly, he may not be able to walk the aisle, he may need a wheelchair. The wedding will go on as planned, but not the way Matt and Keri imagined.
Anyone that has ever had the pleasure of knowing Matt, knows that he is the most genuine, loving, and generous  man. Matt would never ask for help, but is always there to lend a helping hand, for anyone in need. With that being said, Matt needs OUR help!
Matt is currently uninsured.  Which is leaving him and Keri with astronomical medical bills! With Matt being out of work for the next couple months at least, we are trying to ease some of his pain. While we can’t ease his emotional or physical pain, we can “Lessen the Burn” by giving him what we can to help cover all the unforeseen medical expenses. Which by now, are well up near the $100,000 mark. Any little bit will help. And will be very much appreciated.
