Lester & Amanda Justice need our help

This fundraiser is for Lester Justice and his wife, Amanda, as they are going through some very rough times. Brittany Crabtree (Amanda’s daughter) & Jennie Ricketts (Amanda and Lester’s friend) are sponsoring this fundraiser in order to help the Justice family with financial needs, (both present and future) for medical bills as well as household bills, travel, medications etc that may occur due to Lester’s sickness and hospital stay.

Lester had been sick since October and on December 19th, 2023, he was taken by medical transport because he was having issues with his breathing. He was admitted on the 19th for bilateral pneumonia with oxygen levels at 67. He was put in ICU and ,shortly after, was put on a ventilator. Lester is unable to breathe on his own, so he remains on a ventilator. The doctors plan to put in a tracheotomy and a peg tube and a permanent pacemaker.

Lester coded twice on January 5th and has had 5 doses of IVIG as well as 4 treatments of plasmapheresis. He can open his eyes, move his jaw and head, has reflex in his hands and can feel touch on his feet but is unable to breathe on his own just yet.

The ICU doctor at OBICI believes that Lester has (AIDP) Acute Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy. A consult/review of his case was done by the chair of Neuromuscular Medicine at VCU and believes that Lester has an axonal form of GBS (Guillain-Barre Syndrome) or possible Demyelinating pattern. She suggested a nerve conduction study for the next course of action.

Lester’s wife, Amanda, has been his rock, staying by his side 10+ hours a day. Both Amanda and Lester have been out of work since December 19th and could both use your prayers, good thoughts, well wishes and any monetary donations that you would like to contribute to make their road a little easier.
