Little Free Pantries will never replace the vast work food security agencies/groups do. It's essential, as individuals, we continue to support our neighborhood food banks and larger groups like NW Harvest. Their work feeds hundreds of thousands of people on a weekly basis. Continue to donate and volunteer in this way! LFP's will never fix the food insecurity and hunger crisis in this nation but they will support a neighbor. Our neighbors need support. It takes a village.
After my social media post, offering 6 Little Free Pantries free to anyone, the response from the Seattle community was unexpected. End result….we have 20 people wanting a Little Free Pantry for their yard. Imagine, 20 pantries sitting throughout Seattle neighborhoods. We are a beautiful village! Not only did that post bring about the possibility of 20 additional pantries out in the world but 3 people volunteered their time to build these pantries. Wow!
This $800 goal will go to build 20 Little Free Pantries, including the mounting post. It breaks down to $40/box! The labor is being donated by 3 different families from the neighborhood.
My family and I certainly didn’t expect to manage a project of 20 pantries, but here we are! Let’s do this folks! Please consider making a donation in any amount to support this effort. Thank you for your full heart, kindness and for being a “helper”.
